The Hammond Suzuki Studio is committed to creating a musical community to support every student and family throughout their Suzuki Violin journey. Working together as a team, students, parents and teacher develop the best environment for enriching musical experiences.
Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited.
-Shinichi Suzuki
The Hammond Suzuki Studio is committed to providing a healthy environment for all. To minimize risk to all studio families, all people entering the lesson space are asked to pre-screen for symptoms of illness. HEPA filters are used in the lesson studio.
Each student has a weekly private lesson, scheduled on week days throughout the program year. Lesson times are assigned, and remain stable for the entire program year.
Group classes are a weekly event that is scheduled on Saturday. Each student is placed in a group class that reflects their violin ability level.
Solo recitals are held in early December and early May.
A showcase recital featuring all group classes. This recital happens in early March, before March Break.
Depending on current public health guidance, some sort of community building event or celebration will be held during the year.
Each year, special events will be included in the program to offer each student and their family a unique musical experience. This may include participating in workshops or special events hosted by other Suzuki organizations or programs.
