Introduction to Suzuki Violin for 2.5-6 Year Olds
The Twinkle Stars program introduces children and their parent/caregiver to folk songs, rhythmic patterns, movement to music, vocalization, the musical alphabet, midline development and the beginning of finger independence. Each class is carefully prepared with a purpose and goal guiding the selection of each activity. The curriculum is based in Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE) and Pre-Twinkle Violin activities.
Twinkle Stars will help develop gross and fine motor skills, routine, concentration and focus required to begin violin lessons. Introduction to the key elements of the Suzuki philosophy will begin in this class, and be reinforced through daily home listening and practice assignments. This will help each family develop a home practice routine and assess their readiness as the skills necessary to instrument lessons.
This is a low ratio class. Enrollment is limited to 6 children with their caregiver.
Classes are scheduled on Saturdays from 9:30am-10:15am at Bells Corners United Church. Classes take place within the Hammond Suzuki Studio group class schedule to assist in scheduling for families with older siblings participating in violin classes. This also allows Twinkle Stars participants to observe other violin group classes too!
Twinkle Stars participants will have the opportunity to participate in the Hammond Suzuki Studio Group Class Recital on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 1pm.
Families participating in the Twinkle Stars program will be given priority placement into the Violin Studio, when families are ready to transition into private lessons. Transition into the violin studio can happen at any point during the year. Twinkle Stars fees will be applied to Studio Fees at the start of private lessons.
